It’s time to start thinking about a project that I’ve had on hold for a while — something like a coffee-table travelogue that involves a history of signs. I’ve been taking pictures of particular signs (usually post WW2, 1950-60s, with Neon) for several years now, and haven’t done anything with the results.
So here goes. I’m thinking that the catalyst should be either: 1) a short essay about each sign; 2) a combination of a sign and a painting; 3) a limited edition series of monoprints where I print the photo onto watercolor paper and then mark it up with mixed media.
Ideas?
