Here’s a neat idea: make a device that powers up your devices the second you lay the device down on the object. Looks like it actually works, as reported on by Gizmodo, but there’s a catch.
To use this device you must purchase an adapter that snaps on to your existing electronic device. The company currently has attachments for a Motorola Razr and and an Apple iPod.
This is very cool technology, but I think to reach beyond the “people who are really annoyed with their chargers” market they will need to implement a version of this that simply finds your battery when you place the device on the charging plate and charges it up. Otherwise, I think I’ll go on using my universal charger (to charge my Razr, my BlackBerry Pearl, and my headset, it works just fine).
