PC World’s 50 Greatest Gadgets

PC World lists the 50 greatest gadgets of the last 50 years, and gets the list mostly right. There are a few omissions, though. Leaving out Lego Blocks in general in favor of Lego Mindstorms seems a bit short-sighted. Likewise, including the Commodore 64, TRS-80 and other revolutionary computers and excluding the Apple Macintosh is quite weird.

But overall, it’s a neat list and worth a read.

    aren’t legos older than 50 years? also, not sure that legos or the first macintosh are really gadgets. legos are a toy (mindstorms is the gadget) and the mac was a significant invention, and hopefully much more than just a gadget…at least to me.
